Embracing the Winter Solstice

The night lay cold and silent, stars seemingly frozen in the sky,

As the Winter Solstice whispered her mysteries in the stillness,

Beneath the blanket of snow which covered the sleeping earth,

I lay curled up within my abode,

I drift in and out of consciousness,

A gentle light crept silently into my presence,

nudging me to awaken,

To perceive the stirring beneath the earth,

The anticipation of the sun's returning warmth,

The time of rebirth was dawning.

My heart felt the desire to dream again,

A newfound hope kindled within me,

Night giving into the day,

growth emerging,

The cycle of life beginning once again.

The winter stillness washes over me,

Snug in my cocoon - I succumbed to the urge to rest,

Embracing this time of self -reflection and renewal,

Patience becomes my friend, as I wait for the sun’s return,

Anticipating the emergence of springtime and the unfolding transformation
