Let your Inner Light Shine

On a cold late November day, I came upon these flowers silently blooming. They seemed so mysterious to me and out of place, for even their leaves had shriveled and turned brown and yet the flowers still bloomed. They seemed to defy the elements around them. I took their picture hoping to capture the magic and mystery they held. As I gazed on their beauty, I moved into a meditative state waiting for them to speak to me, hoping they would reveal their secret. And Spirit spoke “It is not that which is around you that determines whether you blossom and bloom. It is connection to your heart and to Spirit which illuminates your life.”

I thought about these words, and I realized that I had been going through some struggles lately. It seemed like so many things that once brought me joy had faded away - just like the leaves on the trees. And I wondered how I would get my enthusiasm back. I had been focusing on the things in my life which were out of balance and trying to fix them. But that only resulted in my energy feeling drained. So, I shifted my focus on my heart center and re-connected with my spirit and my Creator. It was then that my burdens lifted, and I could once again see the clear path before me. My heart began to blossom, and my joy returned. How amazing is our Creator’s love for us, his guidance and direction are ever present. A simple message from one of his flowers, an encounter created simply because we stop and ask questions. No matter how difficult things seem around you, you are never alone; you are never without guidance. Shift your focus, ask questions and you will find the answers.

Our lives are interwoven in a beautiful and magical way,

We are held together in a bond of energy and love,

I hear your voice calling to be heard,

My heart connects to your heart,

Your challenges are my challenges,

I see your Spirit and it’s beautiful,

I see you in all your perfection,

You are already strong, I will help you to see this,

I will stand strong for you,

I will embrace you when you hurt,

I will encourage you to find your power again,

Together we will change our lives,

Together we will change our world,

Together we will heal our pain.

For our lives are interwoven in a beautiful and magical way,

We are held together in a bond of energy and love,

And nothing can separate us.
