As we journey through life, we often encounter obstacles that seem so large and immovable they block the way forward. In those moments, it’s natural to feel weighed down and uncertain about how to continue.
While at a healing fair, I met a Shaman woman whose beautiful spirit and timeless wisdom immediately put me at ease. She offered guidance for approaching such obstacles—wisdom that has stayed with me and that I now feel called to share with you:
“The obstacle before you is unmoving—do not try to move it.Think of it like a boulder. You don’t try to move a boulder.Instead, be like the water—find your path around it.The path is there. Meditate, connect with your inner self, and you will see it.The passageway around the boulder is narrow—it may be difficult.Don’t try to think your way through it.Feel your way through.Connect with the light, and it will guide you.Your emotions, centered in your heart, will lead you along the path.”
Later, I sat by the edge of a river, reflecting on her words. I watched as the water flowed around the boulders—graceful, effortless, purposeful. The rocks did not stop its movement; they shaped it, even propelled it forward.
Perhaps this is what our struggles and challenges do for us—calling forth the strength and wisdom we already carry. Encouraging us to trust, to feel, and to follow the quiet current of the heart.
When you encounter obstacles, pause, listen, and let your heart show you the way forward—the path is always there.
